TITANS TRIUMPH

Penzance Under-14 Titans enjoyed a resounding 10-0 win in the local derby against St Just at Mounts Bay Academy over the weekend, reports Silas Sullivan.

Great work by Harry at the back kept the Tinners out in the early stages, and the Magpies made the break-through in the 15th minute. Great play between Alfie O and Theo in the middle put  Bailey free to dink the ball over the keeper at a tight angle. Good work again from Alfie O set up Ted to smash home the second and, just before half-time, Penzance got a third through Tom, twisting and turning on the edge of the box to slot the ball in the bottom corner.

St Just almost got a goal with an audacious free-kick from 25 yards which was parried wide by keeper Harry. The Magpies responded with their fourth - a great run from Bailey on the right, beating two players before tucking away his second of the game. Alfie O then added two goals before Leo weighed in with the seventh, touching home from close range after some great work from Bray down the right.

Theo found space in the middle to thread a pass in behind for Caleb to slot home the eighth. Myles came close to Penzance’s ninth, rattling the bar following some great play, but Alfie D made sure of it, smashing home on the half volley.Ted then wrapped up the win with his second of game, touching the ball over the line at the back post.
