With the wet weather finally relenting a little, some of the Penzance Youth teams who had been out of action for a while returned to the field of play last weekend.
The Under-7 Panthers and Under-9 Cosmos played away to Illogan RBL and Truro City respectively. The Under-13 Titans were in County Cup action, succumbing 1-5 to Tregorrick Park at Newlyn Coombe, but the Under-16 Jets strengthened their position at the top of the Premiership with a 4-2 victory over Pensilva at Penwith College. Fresh from his County call-up, Logan Curnow opened the scoring. Dom Hodges and Daniel May both also found the net before half-time with in-form Hodges bagging his second after the break. Alfie Cloke and Henry Timms replied for the visitors.
This Sunday the Under-7 Panthers travel to Mitchell to play East Wheal Rose (10am) and the Under-9 Cosmos to Hayle where there is a 2.30pm start at Trevassack Park.
The Under-11 Aliens entertain Illogan at the Coombe (2.30pm) while the Under-14 Apollos have a 10.30am kick-off in Perranwell for their game against Grasshoppers.
Finally, the Under-18s, whose game away to Falmouth Town last Sunday was postponed, are also on the road - to St Blazey for a 2pm start at Blaise Park.
