MAGPIES LOOK TO MAKE IT THREE ON THE TROT

Penzance enter the second half of their pre-season schedule when St Agnes visit Penlee Park tonight (kick-off 7pm).

After a narrow defeat in the opener against Falmouth Town Reserves, the new-look Magpies have bounced back with encouraging wins over Porthleven and Pendeen Rovers. St Agnes, who in Martyn Kimmins boast one of the longest-serving managers in English senior football, finished sixth in the the West Division of the Kernow Stone St Piran League and threaten the continuation of this run.

Ahead of the encounter, Penzance Joint Manager John McCallum says: “Last Friday at Pendeen saw us dominate the game for large spells without creating too many chances, so there are certainly things to work on in the final third. Defensively we were excellent - I can't remember Pendeen creating anything at all from open play, so overall we were very pleased with the performance. The attitude and commitment so far from the lads has been fantastic, so long may it continue.”

Striker Rolandos Samnauskas is available for the first time this summer. With Kizzie Snowden, Sam Buckley and Archie Reynolds also returning after missing Pendeen, the managers have at their disposal an 18 man squad of: Mikey Flores, Reynolds, Cameron McCabe, Jordan Daniell, Ryan Andrew, Alfie Turner, Max Everard, Kevin Lawrence, Kam Collins, Tyler Tonkin, Silas Sullivan, Robertas Samnauskas, Snowden, Darryl Richards, Jacob Trudgeon, Joe Gordon, Buckley and Rolandos Samnauskas.

Admission is just £2 (£1 for concessions). Season Tickets holders go free – season tickets will be on sale in the club from 6pm onwards, or at the gate.

Our matchday programme "The Magpie Review" – very well received at the opening two games – will be on sale for the pre-season price of just £1. The bar will be open from 6pm, so why not get down early for your “pint and peruse?”

See you down there!
